In 1993 the company became the first Chilean winery exporting its wines to other countries.

The company was founded by Spanish marquis Don Melchor de Santiago Concha y Toro who invited a prominent French winemaker Labouchere to start the winery. Labouchere brought to Chile the best selective grapes varieties cultivated in France and harvested before the phylloxera epidemic in Europe.
