Raimbek Batalov

Raimbek Anvarovich Balatov was born in 1970 in Almaty. He graduated from the Kazakh Architecture and Construction academy with “engineer-constructor” major. In 90’s he was one of the executive directors of “RidderInvest” metallurgical complex, managed the operations of “Novozhambyl Phosphorus plant” chemical complex, Tobol elevator, sugar factory in Merke and Shymkent Heating plant 3.

In 1992 Raimbek Batalov established trade firm “Raimbek” which nowadays has turned into a big, successfully growing holding - Raimbek.

“We have a strategy and we are growing, in spite of periodically appearing crisis and complicated situation in economу. We give special attention to optimization of business processes and automatisation. Seems like classic scenario. But knowing is one thing, another is – actually implementing knowledge into actions. These are two different approaches. Implementation was never an easy thing”, - states Raimbek Batalov.

In Kazakhstan Raimbek Batalov is famous not only as successful entrepreneur, but also as a public figure. Starting 2002 he’s a Chairman of the Forum of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan.

Since 2005 he is leading the Kazakh national unit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Business Council.

In 2007 Batalov became a member of the Civic Chamber under the Majilis of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2010 he joined the Integrated Coordination Council chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He also takes part in President’s Council on Entrepreneurship and General Committee of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs.

Since 2012 he is an independent expert of Advisory Сommittee for Entrepreneurial Issues of the Eurasian Economic Commission (Mosсow).

Starting 2009 Batalov became a President of the Kazakhstani Federation of Underwater Sports.

In 2015 Batalov was elected as a first vice-president of the Kazakhstani Cycling Federation.

His hobbies include cycling, tennis, skiing. In his youth he was engaged in professional underwater swimming.

He is married with three sons and three daughters.
