Series of interviews with Raimbek employees dedicated the 25th anniversary of the company.

«RIGHT ATMOSPHERE IN OFFICE IS WHEN PEOPLE SMILE »

Primary goods supply for juice production, delivery of imported alcohol, milk procurement for dairy factory, supply of equipment, components kits, packages, and many others. In a food division of Raimbek young and responsive principal Suren Abibulayev manages all these processes. Meet the head of the department of supply chains.

- Suren, how did it all begin?

- I came to Raimbek in 2011 in winter. I was quite fresh then, I had certain life experience and quite moderate professional experience (my working experience after graduation of the university is just one year).

I was assigned to the alcohol direction as a procurement expert. I got plunged into the deep end. There was a huge scale of work and abundant responsibility. It was just like learning to swim in a boisterous mountain river with numerous hidden rocks.

But I think I coped with this challenge quite not bad. At that time in our sphere (alcohol import) still were licenses, quotas, and state registration certificates of alcohol products suppliers were just introduced within the framework of the Customs Union.

This all was new, and it wasn’t clear how to live on with it, and how to cope with it. And we had to contrive (laughs). We sometimes had to use fads, some nontrivial ideas to find the way out of the difficult situations. For example, when the state registration certificates for alcohol suppliers were introduced, almost nobody could import anything into Kazakhstan. Because it was required to get quite long list of documents for each item of products from all foreign suppliers, which was very difficult as you should understand. Over 200 items of alcohol products, and 6 documents for each of them. Well, we tried to survive the way we could.

I wouldn’t say I didn’t have any fiasco, but there were more victories. In our work each day you win a small victory.

Today I have gone beyond. Procurement process of alcohol, fruit concentrate and strategic primary products for dairy production. Then there was external logistics, and the whole experience allowed me to rise up to the position of head of the department of supply chains management, and now our department manage all these processes.

- What makes you a special pleasure in your work?

- Working with people. It is most interesting, but at the same time the most difficult thing for the manager, because the atmosphere among staff members is very important. If there is no atmosphere, or it is hard, nobody would wish to go to work. That’s why for many years I’ve been trying to create friendly atmosphere in our team. Good and responsive people work in our crew, who are always ready to come to the aid. It’s important. And it is worth much.

- How do you manage with creating such favorable atmosphere in your crew?

- Right atmosphere at work is the atmosphere when people smile in the office instead of just sitting looking into monitors and sweeping over the keyboard. In general I assume that someone should be 100 % busy all day long. In addition there should be communication outside office. We like sports, we often go out together, organize competitions and parties.

But first of all I work at the atmosphere when I recruit staff – I can see if this person would fit in with the team and whom the team would accept. And the one who would become the integral part of the team.

- What do you think is the secret of Raimbek success?

- It’s a head. The head, which has formed the team. I think that the name of Raimbek Batalov is the guarantee of success. Everyone believes in this name as in sustainability. And of course the team itself. It is the core team, who are flagship of our company. Those, who have been working here for over 10 years. They carry so much on their shoulders, so much have been done by them to make Raimbek company remain the leader in the market.

I often hear comments about our company and can definitely say that the products we manufacture are relatable to quality, sustainability and confidence in the market.

- What will the company be in 25 years?

In 25 years? When we celebrate the 50th anniversary? I think we will be the largest manufacturer in the sphere of consumer products in Kazakhstan. Large, stable and sustainable company, which is confidently moving forward.
